History of Olsson Industries, depots and stockists We are the oldest family owned and operated salt & lick block manufacturers in Australia In 1949, just west of Parramatta, Norman Olsson made the first pressed multi-nutrient block in Australia. Norman Olsson had left the family ice business and bought a salt press to make salt blocks for sheep during the drought of the late 1940's. The first Olsson's Calcium Molasses pressed salt block was made in 1949- it was the forerunner of all multi-nutrient blocks made in Australia. Today we are Australia's most innovative ruminant supplement manufacturer in block form, manufacturing 20, 40, 100 and even 1000kg blocks. Every year, Olsson’s sponsor hundreds of free ruminant nutrition seminars all over Australia for the purpose of educating the grazier in better livestock nutrition.
